In Arabic, letters can change shape depending on where they appear in a word. There are 4 main forms:
• Isolated: When the letter is written alone or not connected at all.
• Beginning: The letter comes at the start of the word and connects only to the letter after it.
• Medial: The letter is in the middle, connecting to both sides.
• Final: The letter is at the end of the word, connecting only to the letter before it.
In Arabic, we use short vowel marks (not full letters) to help pronounce sounds. These marks go above or below the letter and change the way it sounds:
1. Fatha (ـَ) – makes an “a” sound → نَ = na
2. Damma (ـُ) – makes an “u” sound → نُ = nu
3. Kasra (ـِ) – makes an “i” sound → نِ = ni
These are called short vowels because they are quick sounds, not long like “aa, uu, ii”.powerful, and perfect for your daily learning journey.
